Overview
We’re looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates team based at The Wellington Hospital. This role is vital in ensuring a first-class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.
What You’ll Do
Maintaining, servicing and testing various electrical and mechanical plants such as AHUs, air conditioning systems, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems and generators.
Ensure a safe working environment at all times and adhere to HCA Healthcare policy and procedures.
Be the main point of contact for all engineering and maintenance queries at 40 Bank Street.
Carry out PPMs and daily checks of plant areas, ensuring the area is well maintained, operational and tidy at all times.
Work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives.
Carry out water management control measures as required by the Water Risk Assessment (e.g., flushing and temperature monitoring). Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Respond to and complete incoming works logged on the CAFM system, Engineering Central; prioritise workload and respond quickly to emergency and reactive maintenance as requested.
Liaise with the Landlord Management team and coordinate any works affecting HCA demise, attending update meetings as required.
On-site contractor management, reviewing RAMs and raising permits to work.
Assist in projects as required.
What You’ll Bring
Qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ in plumbing or an engineering building services qualification).
Good understanding of BMS systems.
Knowledge of water hygiene and Legionella management.
Previous experience within a hospital or similar organisation.
Health and safety, COSHH.
General knowledge of fire regulations.
Excellent customer care and communication skills.
Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
