Maintenance Engineer\nLocation: Manchester\nSalary: £37,500 - £45,000\n\nOur client, a leading organisation within the Energy Efficient Solutions Group (EESG), is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding team. The company, rooted in a strong foundation within the lighting industry, has grown to offer a comprehensive suite of energy-saving and decarbonisation solutions-including LED lighting, Solar PV, Heating, EV Charging, and Air Purification.\n\nThe Role:\nAs the business continues to grow its maintenance services across Solar PV, LED Lighting, and Electric Vehicle Charging infrastructure, the Maintenance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring equipment reliability and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and client liaison on-site.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPerform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on Solar PV, LED lighting, and EV charging systems\n\nDiagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise system downtime\n\nConduct routine electrical testing and inspections\n\nAdhere strictly to health and safety procedures, including safe isolation and working at height\n\nComplete maintenance records, test certificates, and service reports accurately\n\nCommunicate effectively with clients, providing updates and technical advice\n\nManage tools, equipment, and spare parts to ensure efficient service delivery\n\nContribute to continuous improvement of maintenance operations\n\nRequired Experience and Skills:\n\nProven electrical maintenance experience in Solar PV, LED lighting, or EV charging systems\n\nIn-depth knowledge of electrical circuits, 18th Edition wiring regulations, and safe working practices\n\nSkilled in fault-finding, testing, and repairs using diagnostic tools\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical schematics and documentation\n\nStrong organisational and time management abilities\n\nSolid understanding of health and safety legislation\n\nDesirable Qualifications:\n\nCity & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance\n\nBS 7671 (18th Edition) certification\n\nMCS or City & Guilds Solar PV qualifications\n\nEV charger installation and maintenance training\n\nHealth and safety certifications such as IOSH or SMSTS\n\nExperience with BMS and building service systems is advantageous\n\nThis position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact in the fast-growing renewable energy sector.
