OverviewRole: Maintenance Engineer - Permanent NightsCompany: Packaging CompanyLocation: TelfordSalary: £40k - £43,500k plus 10% shift premium, overtime and a four night shift working weekJoin our highly successful, global packaging company as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer at our Telford site.About Us: We pride ourselves on maintaining excellence in our operations. Our engineering team is the backbone of our success, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborative Maintenance: Work alongside shop floor management to prioritise repairs and schedule essential and planned maintenance of all machines.Performance Monitoring: Regularly liaise with the Engineering Manager to discuss machine performance, plan repairs, and coordinate new plant and machinery installations.Quality Assurance: Partner with the quality department to address machine performance issues and uphold our high-quality standards.Efficiency Initiatives: Actively promote the reduction of scrap and enhance the efficiency of our Conversion and Extrusion sections.Process Development: Be proactive in developing new processes and procedures to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality across all aspects of product manufacturing and supply.Continuous Improvement: Support the embedding of continuous improvement initiatives within all areas of the business.External ResponsibilitiesSupplier Relations: Maintain close working relationships and effective communication with all machinery and spare parts suppliers to maximize support levels.Internal Operational ResponsibilitiesAccurate Documentation: Keep detailed records of breakdowns and downtimes on maintenance logs.Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures in line with legal requirements and company policy at all times.Training & Development: Advise and train relevant personnel in new processes and procedures.5S and Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.Skills & AttributesYou will have the ability to work well under pressure and will present with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
