The Role of the Maintenance Engineer
The Maintenance Engineer will play an active role in ensuring a safe, efficient, and reliable site through robust maintenance practices. The Maintenance Engineer will also be responsible for administrating the maintenance schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver site maintenance activities
Create and communicate maintenance/service schedules
Prepare reports and documentation for management
Respond promptly to unplanned breakdowns and call-outs
Lead and perform maintenance tasks alongside the technical support team
Drive cost-reduction and equipment improvement projects
Resolve process issues through continuous improvement
Source parts/quotations and raise purchase requisitions
Manage and supervise contractors on site
Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and company policies
Work flexibly, including overtime or non-regular hours when required
About the Maintenance Engineer
Higher Certificate in Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
Minimum 2 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices
Confident reading, interpreting, and updating engineering drawings
Proficient with Excel for analysing asset performance and costs
Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, and materials
