Role Overview Were looking for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our in-house team. This is a hands-on role covering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across our Wembley and Canary Wharf sites. Youll be directly responsible for completing statutory and non-statutory PPMs across key building systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability at all times. Youll also handle general maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and supporting our residents and on-site teams to maintain exceptional standards. Key Responsibilities Deliver all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in-house across both sites, covering electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general building systems.
Ensure all statutory and compliance-related tasks are completed on time and recorded accurately.
Carry out reactive maintenance and fault-finding, resolving issues promptly to minimise disruption.
Conduct routine inspections of plant rooms, equipment, and life safety systems.
Complete all maintenance documentation, logs, and compliance records accurately and promptly.
Support periodic compliance testing (e.g. emergency lighting, fire alarm, water hygiene, AOVs, etc.).
Liaise with external contractors for specialist works where required, ensuring high standards and value for money.
Maintain stock levels for parts and materials, ensuring timely replacement and minimal downtime.
Work on a rota that includes weekend cover to ensure site reliability and quick response to issues.
Identify and suggest improvements in maintenance efficiency and energy performance.
Skills and Experience Proven experience as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, ideally in a residential or commercial building environment.
Confident carrying out both electrical and mechanical maintenance (fabric and plumbing experience desirable).
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, pumps, controls, and life safety systems.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently across two London sites and managing your own workload.
Strong awareness of health and safety and safe systems of work.
Positive, proactive, and resident-focused approach.
Qualifications (preferred but not essential) NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
18th Edition or equivalent electrical qualification.
Plumbing or HVAC certification advantageous.
