Stirling Moulded Composites Ltd are a growing company involved in the design and manufacture of a variety of products for industries ranging from sports protection to industrial safety harnesses.
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team and support the continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations. This hands-on role plays a vital part in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of all equipment and machinery, enabling production to meet both quality and performance standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with a positive attitude, strong technical background, and a passion for problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Performance Objectives
Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods to ensure safe and reliable equipment performance. Diagnose and repair breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plant control software systems. Manage and liaise with subcontractors to ensure compliance with company safety standards. Oversee maintenance tools, stores, and equipment to ensure availability and efficiency. Monitor and control maintenance costs while contributing to cost-effective solutions. Respond to emergency and unplanned maintenance issues in a timely manner. Support refurbishment, installation, and commissioning projects. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Person Specification
Ideally 17th Edition IEE qualified. Minimum HNC or apprenticeship-qualified with relevant work experience. Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge. Flexible approach to working hours and availability when required. Excellent practical, technical, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Capable of working independently or as part of a small team. Able to perform effectively under pressure. A proactive "can-do" attitude and commitment to excellence.
