MERITUS are working with one of Europe's leading defence manufacturers for the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer to join their Stevenage site on a 12 Month contract basis. The role is full time on site paying £40 per hour via umbrella, and requires the incumbent of the position to be a sole UK as the customer would look to start a security clearance.\n\nOverview of Department:\n\nWe are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Calibration & Maintenance Team. This role will involve supporting day-to-day operations, conducting repairs on process equipment and environmental stress screening facilities, and working from drawings, circuit diagrams, schematics, and user manuals.
A strong understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is essential. The position offers varied, challenging, and interesting work in a fast-paced environment.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProvide day-to-day support to operations teams.\n\nConduct repairs on process equipment and environmental stress screening facilities.\n\nUse technical documentation (drawings, schematics, manuals) to provide guidance and carry out repairs.\n\nApply knowledge of PPM to maintain equipment effectively.\n\nPerform accurate fault finding and repairs down to component level.\n\nSupport continuous improvement and technical troubleshooting across the team.\n\nMentor junior staff when requested by the line manager.\n\nSkills & Experience Required\n\nMinimum qualification: HNC in a relevant engineering subject.\n\nProven experience in fault finding to component level.\n\nAbility to interpret and use instructions, handbooks, drawings, and specifications.\n\nStrong understanding and experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).\n\nSkilled in taking precise measurements down to component level.\n\nExperience working on manufacturing process equipment (experience with CCA manufacture desirable).\n\nFamiliarity with vibration shakers and environmental chambers (desirable).\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\n\nExperience mentoring junior staff.\n\nWorking knowledge of SAP (desirable)
