Maintenance Engineer – Prestwick | £19.50/hr | Temp to Perm | Sustainable Manufacturing Environment

Aspirare is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing facility based in Prestwick. This is a temp-to-perm position offering long-term career potential, a competitive hourly rate, and stable, full-time hours. The ideal candidate will have a solid mechanical background, proven experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, and a proactive, hands-on approach to fault-finding and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out regular preventative and routine maintenance on production machinery to ensure consistent performance and reliability

* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production flow

* Identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults to restore machinery to optimal working condition

* Support the Engineering Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations

* Complete all tasks in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures

Requirements:

* Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, FMCG, or automated production environment

* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Mechanical Engineering

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns

* Strong mechanical fault-finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills

* Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
