Location: Geary’s Bakeries Ltd | Barrow Upon Soar | LE12 8LD The Role As a Maintenance Engineer in our bakery, you will play a key role in delivering planned maintenance (PPMs), taking full ownership of GMP standards across the department, and acting as the bridge between engineering and operations for asset care. Your responsibilities combine elements of mechanical, electrical, and sometimes automation engineering, all within the strict regulatory standards of the food industry (e.g. HACCP, GMP, FDA, etc.) * Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on bakery production equipment to minimise downtime and ensure asset reliability. * Take ownership of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in the engineering function, ensuring maintenance activities always support food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards. * Act as the asset care lead, working closely with operations to improve equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement. * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues. * Repair and replace faulty parts or equipment with minimal downtime. * Rapidly respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions. * Ensure all equipment meets food safety regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP). * Support audits and inspections by maintaining documentatio...
