Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing
This is a dynamic and technically rewarding role that offers real scope for innovation, ownership, and professional growth. We're looking for individuals who are not only technically capable but also ambitious, proactive, and passionate about their own development. You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team where curiosity and continuous improvement are highly valued.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all tooling designs comply with the highest Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) standards. You'll actively contribute to our Zero Harm objectives by embedding safety into every aspect of design and implementation.
- Driving Quality Excellence: Apply robust Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles to deliver right-first-time tooling solutions. You'll champion a zero-defect mindset and support the development of best practices throughout the team.
- Technical Leadership & Delivery:
- Define technical requirements and specifications for new and modified tooling systems.
- Make key design decisions, approve manufacturing drawings, FEA/stress reports, and ensure CE marking and compliance, where required.
- Take ownership of tooling projects-from concept through to commissioning-across Experimental, Production, and Aftermarket build lines.
- Coordinate with customers and suppliers, place tooling orders, and provide ongoing technical oversight to ensure delivery to quality and timeline expectations.
- Support fleet issues and emergent requirements with agile tooling responses, including rapid design, validation, and deployment.
- Create tooling process documentation, including build sequences and user training materials, and contribute to PFMEA and risk reviews.
Who we're looking for
Being a part of Rolls-Royce you'll know we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. These principles form our behaviours. They are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.
- A degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or design engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Strong CAD capability, with proficiency in Siemens Nx (or willingness to learn fast).
- A good understanding of engine build or overhaul processes, gained through hands-on experience or subsystem design/manufacturing roles.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply root cause analysis to technical challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in conveying complex technical information clearly.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and industrialisation processes (preferred).
- A proactive mindset with a strong drive for personal and professional development. You should be eager to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility in a world-class engineering environment.
We are an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives which are crucial to innovation and problem solving. We believe the more diverse perspectives we have, the more successful we'll be. By building a culture of caring and belonging, we give everyone who works here the opportunity to realise their full potential.
We welcome applications from people with a refugee background.
