We’re on the lookout for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in LEX. If you're someone who loves solving complex problems, thrives in a hands-on environment, and is passionate about continuous improvement, this could be your next big step.
What You’ll Be Doing:
This role is all about owning and optimising the processes that drive our consumables manufacturing. You’ll be leading process development, supporting high-volume production transfers, and ensuring everything runs smoothly—from yield targets to safety protocols.
You'll get to:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes that make our consumables reliable and efficient
- Lead process development initiatives and support new product introductions
- Design and execute experiments to fine-tune process parameters
- Develop process control metrics and reporting tools
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians to drive results
- Write SOPs and keep documentation up to date
- Train and mentor junior staff (yes, you’ll be the go-to expert!)
- Spot risks, highlight resource conflicts, and propose smart solutions
- Be a champion of health & safety, continuous improvement, and best practices
We’re looking for someone who’s not just technically strong, but also proactive, hands-on, and able to work across teams.
Requirements
Here’s what we’d love to see:
- Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or related field
- 3+ years in cleanroom or high-tech manufacturing environments
- Solid experience with heat sealing and ultrasonic welding
- Practical problem-solving skills and mechanical intuition
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Comfortable creating risk/COSHH assessments and technical documentation
- Team player who communicates clearly across disciplines
Bonus if you're familiar with ISO13485, and if you’ve got Lean Six Sigma skills? Even better.

LEX Diagnostics was founded in 2020. Our innovative system is designed to integrate effortlessly into primary care settings, bringing PCR sensitivity to urgent care centres, physicians labs, and pharmacies, returning results significantly quicker than other molecular platforms.
2025 is a milestone year for us as we’ve just submitted dual 510(k) CLIA waiver applications to the U.S. FDA. This provides as opportunity to be an important part of a high impact launch that will enhance your future career credentials.
