Morson are recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer with cost engineering experience to join our Filton based aerospace client This is an initial 12 month contract and candidates must be ok to work 3 days/week on site on Filton. This role is paying £35/hour on an Umbrella company basis or £26.16 per hour PAYE The Manufacturing Engineer will join the Cost Engineering team and will support all current and future products on cost effectiveness through the design to cost process. The Aerostructures Cost Engineering team is responsible for estimating the full aircraft perimeter for all programmes both NRC (Non-Recurring Costs) and RC (Recurring Costs), Make and Buy.

Cost Engineering is a key enabler for the organisation to reach competitive costing targets for all programmes and pricing agreements with suppliers (new contracts, claims, pricing models) and to take balanced operational and strategic decisions on a wide range of manufacturing and procurement topics.

Using detailed, up to date knowledge of aircraft manufacturing processes, the Costing team provides a neutral, independent view of manufacturing costs and actively supports supplier negotiations and decision making on the full perimeter of current and future manufacturing processes/technologies.
