Position Summary

The Manufacturing Test Engineer I will provide hands-on electrical engineering support for Mevion’s manufacturing operation, focused on proton therapy systems. This entry-level position involves assisting with the development and maintenance of production test setups, improving test documentation, investigating failures, and supporting continuous quality and process improvements across internal and supplier environments.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the development, assembly, and validation of test platforms for production and supplier components.
• Support the creation and continuous improvement of test work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and related documentation.
• Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components and subsystems.
• Analyze nonconforming parts, perform root cause investigations, and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with the Quality and Supply Chain teams to help resolve incoming part issues and improve supplier test processes.
• Maintain and improve test fixture setups, ensuring repeatability and reliability of test procedures.
• Participate in initiatives to reduce test cycle time, increase yield, and improve product reliability.
• Ensure compliance with ESD-safe practices and maintain a clean and organized test environment.
• Assist in the design and documentation of new test tools and jigs as needed to support production goals.
• Occasional travel may be required.
