A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Manufacturing Electronic Test Engineer to join a leading European defence company within their Manufacturing department, supporting the testing and diagnostics of advanced electronic products.
This role will provide technical test engineering support and reports directly to senior members of the Manufacturing Test team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing Test Engineering support during design and development phases, from initial concept through to production readiness and release to operations.
* Supporting the introduction of new test facilities, ensuring appropriate configuration control is in place before use.
* Generating test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports based on higher-level requirements.
* Supporting testing of electrical/electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards, including diagnosing production test failures down to component level.
* Working closely with Operations, Design, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
* Ensuring all work is delivered in line with programme and quality requirements while pursuing continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate would have:
* HND/Degree level qualification in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (minimum HNC accepted with relevant experience).
* Experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacture and test.
* Knowledge of electrical/electronic measurement principles and test equipment.
* Familiarity with fault diagnosis techniques for electronic/electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
* Experience using both manual and automated test equipment.
* Understanding of enterprise resource planning/manufacturing systems (e.g. SAP, MES).
* Good communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
The ideal candidate must have:
* Proven experience supporting electronic manufacturing test activities in a defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated industry.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to plan and organise own work, managing multiple tasks to meet project objectives.
