Copello are supporting a leading Defence organisation in their search for a Test Engineer to join their Manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll support the testing and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub-systems and circuit cards throughout the full product lifecycle. Your work will ensure programmes meet agreed targets for time, cost, and quality.
What you’ll do
- Provide test engineering support from concept and design through to production readiness and release to operations.
- Help introduce and set up test facilities, ensuring equipment is correctly configured and controlled before use.
- Create and maintain test specifications and operator instructions.
- Carry out testing of electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards, diagnosing issues down to component level.
- Work closely with operations, design teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure all testing meets programme and quality requirements, while contributing to continuous improvement.
What we're looking for from you:
- Minimum HNC level of qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject (HND/Degree preferred) plus experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacture and test.
- A good understanding of electrical/electronic measurement and test principles and test equipment, as well as fault diagnosis techniques for electronic/electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
- Experience of using both manual and automated test equipment, preferably in a defence organisation or similar manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with enterprise resource planning and manufacturing execution system programs (e.g. SAP, MES) for recording test activities and generating non-conformance reports and concessions.
