An opportunity for a Marine Engineer - Electrical bias is available with my client who are a well established and highly respected Marine Services provider. Their ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role or Ship’s electrician or EOOW (Engineer Officer of the Watch).\nMarine Engineer - Electrical bias role:\nShould you be succesful having accepted the position of Marine Engineer - Electrical bias, you will report to the Fleet Technical superintendent and be responsible for:\n• Management of Marine Electrical Resources to carry out all electrical engineering functions within the Business.\n• Provide support to the Vessel Superintendents, Technical Manager and Marine Manager in the Management of the Company’s Vessels.\n• Provide support for the fleet of vessels.\n• Assists to ensure Marine / Safety / Engineering Department databases are in date and maintained.\n• Assists with preparation of docking specification, reports as well as maintenance.\n• Supervision of electrical work and testing during surveys, dockings, overhauls and other repairs and timely communication with operational management on emergent issues affecting scope and cost of repair tasks.\n• Liaise with Port authorities, Consultants, Shipyards, Contractors and Suppliers as required.\n• Daily review and update HELM / Dynamics status of assigned vessels, for the relevant electrical tasks and defects.\n• Coordinating with contractors and obtaining quotations for work deemed necessary on assigned vessels, following the appropriate approval processes for sign-off.\n• Ensure that electrical problems raised on-board the fleet are promptly investigated and rectified in a safe and consistent manner.\n• Verifying the vessels are compliant with relevant electrical legislation and requirements.\n• With the ship’s engineer, partly responsible for the maintenance and updating of tasks on the ships HELM/Dynamics maintenance systems.\n• Conduct periodic inspection, testing of safety devises and megger testing of all marine assets.\nMarine Engineer - Electrical bias requirements:\n• Proven experience in capacity of Ship’s electrician or (Engineer Officer of the Watch) or corresponding position.\n• Experience in shipbuilding/ship repair industry.\n• Thorough understanding of Diesel engines & propulsion systems control and monitoring systems.\n• Competent IT skills with a good understanding of Excel.\n• Thorough knowledge and experience of Risk Assessments, safe working practices, permit to work systems and lock-out, tag-out processes, and willing to develop and assist with the implementation of those systems, if needed.\nMarine Engineer - Electrical bias package:\nSalary up to £45k\n8% pension (matched)\nPrivate medical\nAnnual pay reviews\n25 days holiday + bank hols
