A specialist engineering company in Warrington is looking for a Mechanical AIT Engineer to join their growing team. The role is focused on assembly, integration, and testing of high-quality mechanical systems and hardware used in advanced research and technology programmes. What youll be doing Building and testing complex mechanical assemblies from detailed drawings and procedures Handling precision components, bearings, and gears, ensuring correct tolerances and finishes Supporting integration and setup of test rigs and associated instrumentation Carrying out inspections with microscopes and metrology tools to verify compliance Producing clear build and test documentation and contributing to continuous improvement What were looking for 3+ years experience in mechanical assembly, integration, or test in a regulated industry (aerospace, medical devices, precision engineering, or similar) Familiarity with engineering drawings, BOMs, and controlled documentation Practical knowledge of inspection techniques and working to tight tolerances Experience within quality-controlled environments (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100, GMP) A hands-on engineer who takes pride in accuracy and process discipline Nice to have Experience with motor drives, gearboxes, or actuation mechanisms Awareness of DAQ systems or basic instrumentation setups Knowledge of ESD handling and contamination control Prior work in cleanroom or lab environments Location & Package Warrington Salary: £45,000£55,000, plus excellent benefits (pension, healthcare, generous holiday allowance, life assurance, and more) This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys practical build and test work, thrives in a high-quality lab environment, and wants to contribute to cutting-edge engineering projects without being tied down by layers of management.
