Responsibilities for a Mechanical Design Engineer: Lead mechanical design for building services systemsHVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and auxiliary services. Produce coherent and compliant 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD tools (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD) Select and specify mechanical system components that meet performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness targets. Coordinate mechanical systems design with architectural, electrical, structural, and control disciplines. Ensure all designs comply with UK building regulations, industry best practices, and MOD-specific security and performance standards. Review contractors deliverables; provide technical reviews and sign off on mechanical systems. Contribute to design reviews, site visits, and commissioning to ensure successful implementation.
