They are seeking a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to strengthen their Manchester-based design team. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and reviewing design solutions for auxiliary systems on renewable energy projects, collaborating with specialists in a progressive and supportive environment.\n\nThis position offers the chance to expand your technical skills while contributing to vital projects powering millions of homes.\n\nAuxiliary Systems Scope:\n\nHVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Cooling)\nHot & Cold-Water plumbing systems\nBuilding performance modelling & regulatory compliance\nLow-carbon solutions and sustainable design\nBuilding management & control systemsKey Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop designs for auxiliary systems that align with contractual, legal, client, and industry requirements.\nAssess client-provided specifications and enquiry documentation.\nValidate and approve technical specifications for auxiliary systems on HV projects before and after contract award.\nReview supplier drawings and design deliverables throughout project execution.\nConduct technical assessments of subcontractor design packages, ensuring adherence to standards.\nCollaborate with project planners to prepare and review schedules.\nContribute to and manage design and project risk registers.\nTake ownership of personal workload, resources, programme deliverables, and budget allocation.Requirements:\n\nHNC/HND/Degree in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.\nBS7671 (18th edition) certification.\nProven experience designing with Dialux, Amtech and/or Hevacomp.\nBackground in engineering design for industrial or infrastructure applications.\nCompetence with AutoCAD / Revit is desirable.\nAbility to draft clear "Scope of Services" documentation is an advantage.This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading EPC contractor delivering some of the UK's most significant renewable energy and grid infrastructure projects.
