Mechanical Design Engineer – Water Industry\n Manchester | Permanent or Contract | Full-time (Office-based, flexibility considered)\n\n Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer ready for a new challenge in the water industry?\n\n Our client, a forward-thinking design consultancy, is expanding their Manchester office and seeking skilled engineers to support the delivery of water and wastewater projects nationwide.\n \nThis is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing sustainable engineering solutions for critical infrastructure.\n \nWhat you’ll be doing\n \nDesigning mechanical systems for clean water and wastewater treatment plants. \nDeveloping layouts, specifications, and equipment schedules for pumping stations, pipework, and treatment facilities. \nCoordinating with electrical, civil, and process engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.

\nInvolvement from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design. \nEnsuring compliance with technical standards, client specifications, and health & safety requirements. What we’re looking for\n \nDegree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

\nExperience in the UK water industry highly advantageous. \nKnowledge of pumps, pipelines, valves, and treatment process equipment. \nProficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
