Mechanical Design Engineer – Water Industry

Manchester | Permanent or Contract | Full-time (Office-based, flexibility considered)

Our client, a forward-thinking design consultancy, is expanding their Manchester office and seeking skilled engineers to support the delivery of water and wastewater projects nationwide.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing sustainable engineering solutions for critical infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

Designing mechanical systems for clean water and wastewater treatment plants.

Developing layouts, specifications, and equipment schedules for pumping stations, pipework, and treatment facilities.

Coordinating with electrical, civil, and process engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.

Involvement from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design.

Ensuring compliance with technical standards, client specifications, and health & safety requirements. What we’re looking for

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience in the UK water industry highly advantageous.

Knowledge of pumps, pipelines, valves, and treatment process equipment.

Proficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
