Due to new projects, a sector leading manufacturer of specialist vehicles has a new vacancy for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team on a contract basis. Working on a number of new R&D projects you will design innovative packaging solutions for electrical systems and components that form a critical part of the new product design. Candidates are sought with experience in a similar role gained in a highly regulated industry (automotive, aerospace, defence, energy, etc).\nThe Role\nDesign and develop electrical enclosures, panels, and packaging.\nProduce detailed drawings, BOMs, and documentation for manufacturing.\nWork in partnership with electrical and electronics design team to develop new solutions.\nEnsure compliance with relevant standards\nSupport Design for Manufacture reviews to optimise manufacturability and cost.\nWork closely with manufacturing to ensure viability of manufacture.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.\nThe Person\nRelevant design experience of packaging and modelling of electrical assemblies and components.\nPrevious experience working in a complex and highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, rail, defence, etc).\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nExperience using Solidworks .\nStrong verbal, written communication skills- including report writing and presentation
