Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks / Conveyors (Outside IR35)
We are urgently seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support one of our key clients within the warehouse automation and intralogistics sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced engineering project, with an immediate start available.
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing conveyor systems and associated equipment using SolidWorks. You’ll be joining an experienced engineering team, where you’ll be expected to quickly integrate and deliver high-quality design work to support ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed 3D designs and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
*
Design and develop conveyor systems and material handling solutions
*
Work closely with project and engineering teams to ensure on-time delivery
*
Provide input on design improvements and cost-effective solutions
*
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety requirements
Requirements:
*
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
*
Proven experience designing conveyors / material handling equipment
*
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a project-driven environment
*
Previous experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics or special-purpose machinery is highly advantageous
Contract Details:
*
Duration: 3 months initial contract, with strong possibility of extension
*
Status: Outside IR35
*
Location: Hybrid/flexible (details shared on application)
*
Start date: ASAP
