Mechanical Design & Test Engineer 
Location: Glasgow
Position type: Full-time (Contract Prefrered)
Our client, a leading space-sector company, is seeking a proactive and competent Design & Test Engineer to support their orbital ambitions.
This role is suited to candidates with 5–10 years’ industrial experience in the space, aerospace, or product design sectors (or with highly transferable skills). You will need strong attention to detail, broad engineering experience, and the ability to deliver technical products to a very high standard.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies and techniques including:
Pressure test equipment Composites fabrication Infrastructure commissioning Product development Integration and system-level testing Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks, Autodesk). Lead internal design reviews and contribute to supplier/client reviews. Work with electronics engineers on subsystem integration (PCBs, sensors, comms hardware). Develop solutions across structures, propulsion, thermal management, and safety systems. Apply DfX principles for efficient manufacturing and servicing. Define and execute rigorous test plans (shock, vibration, thermal cycling, IP standards).
