ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION- Portsmouth

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £30,000-£40,000, dependent on experience

My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Aerospace industry. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Design / CAD Engineering position Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar highly-regulated industries would be beneficial Be proficient using 3D CAD software, ideally Inventor or SolidWorks Ideally Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar Experience designing precision parts and components would be beneficial Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, fabrication, castings, machining etc. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Proficient using MS Office Excellent organisational skills and time management skills Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings Liaising with manufacturing providers Being in...
