Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Cambridge, UK (Full-time, Permanent)

Salary: £45,000–£55,000 + benefits

Role Overview:

You will design and develop mechanical solutions for cutting-edge scientific instruments, with a focus on CAD using SolidWorks. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll be involved from concept through to manufacture, including design for assembly, on-site assessments, and hands-on troubleshooting. This is a varied role that will see you working in both the lab and the field.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• Minimum 3 years’ post-graduation industry experience

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 2D drawings, geometric tolerancing, and dimensioning

• Experience with design for manufacture/assembly

• Strong communication skills and adaptability

• Knowledge of plastics and medium/large-scale production is an advantage
