Mechanical Design Engineer (Contract)
Peace Recruitment are supporting a design team delivering building services projects in Glasgow & Edinburgh and are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer on a contract basis.
🔹 Contract: Outside IR35 (Ltd Co) Rate: Up to £40 per hour (DOE) Location: Glasgow & Edinburgh (hybrid: office + WFH) 🔹 Projects: Building services (commercial/residential/education) Software: HEVACOMP (essential) — ideally Revit/AutoCAD
Experience
* Mechanical building services design: heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water.
* Load calculations and sizing in HEVACOMP; produce calcs, schematics and schedules.
* Plant/equipment selection (e.g. AHUs, heat pumps/VRF, boilers/chillers, pumps).
* Coordination with electrical/architectural/structural teams; support drawings/mark-ups and respond to site queries.
* Working knowledge of CIBSE guidance and UK standards for buildings services design.
