Salary: £45,000 – £55,000

A growing technology company at the forefront of scientific research and instrumentation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D team. The company develops complex, high-precision systems used across a wide range of industries.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and development of next-generation systems, tackling issues associated with precision instrumentation. You’ll play a key role in taking products from concept through to manufacture, working in a multi-disciplinary team where innovation and problem-solving are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design and develop precision components and mechanisms

+ Take products from early stage concepts to production

+ Specify and integrate motorised chamber mechanisms and actuators

+ Develop fabricated, machined, and formed parts, from specification to testing

+ Produce detailed CAD models and engineering drawings

+ Support prototyping, assembly, and testing of new systems

Key Requirements:

+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field

+ 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design and product development

+ Strong 3D CAD skills - SolidWorks

+ Experience in electro-mechanical products, scientific instrumentation or control systems

+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes - fabrication, machining, and 3D printing

+ Familiarity with ISO9001 and/or ISO13485 quality systems
