As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical building services designs across a variety of projects. You'll work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to all stages of the design process-from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely, while engaging in technically rewarding and diverse projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and domestic water services
Producing engineering calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
Coordinating with other disciplines such as electrical, structural, and architectural teams
Supporting the preparation of tender and construction documentation
Using tools such as IES, AutoCAD, and Revit to develop accurate and coordinated designsWhat you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
Experience delivering mechanical designs in a consultancy or design-and-build environment
Proficiency with design software such as IES, Revit, and AutoCAD
A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
Progress towards professional registration (e.g. CIBSE or IMechE) is desirableWhat you'll get in return
