Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview
Produce layout, assembly and detailed manufacturing drawings and other documentation from concept through to completion using the 2D / 3D CAD system. Provide standard product technical support to both customers and sales team, visiting customers as required as part of the process of winning new business. Prepare concept design proposals in support of winning new business opportunities. Work with a cross functional new product development team completing all engineering tasks required from initial idea right the way through to product launch. Complete engineering studies to assess the technical feasibility of new concepts or ideas. Assist the quality in the technical evaluation of product failures or returns. Generate bills of materials for both new configurations and new products. Provide a CAD support service to the Company creating data sheets, work instructions and marketing literature. Job Requirements Proven experience in a design engineering role / minimum 5 years experience Proficiency in CAD software (Ideally Inventor or SolidWorks) Strong problem-solving and communication skills Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Mechanical Design Engineer
