Mechanical Design Engineer – Rail, Highways & Airport Infrastructure

Up to £90K + Car Allowance | Global M&E Design & Build Contractor

The company deliver major infrastructure projects across Rail, Highways, Airports, and Power Stations — and they're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a range of projects from design through to installation, testing, and commissioning.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead mechanical design reviews to ensure buildability, safety, and compliance
  • Produce and check mechanical designs for tunnel ventilation, HVAC, and pumped systems
  • Coordinate with construction teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Ensure all systems meet HSE, quality, programme, and regulatory standards
  • Support commissioning and testing activities
  • Work in a hybrid mix of site-based and design office environments

What you’ll bring

✅ Qualified Mechanical Engineer

✅ Mechanical Services Design experience in Rail, Airports, Highways, or Power Stations

✅ Knowledge of mechanical installation legislation, BIM, and design modelling standards

✅ Experience with HVAC, fire-rated ductwork, potable water & drainage systems

✅ SMSTS and/or CSCS card

✅ Proficiency in MS Office
