Position Overview Were looking for a Cornwall based Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver building services projects . Your focus will be on designing, detailing, and developing mechanical systems in line with client needs and defence-sector standards. A security clearance from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is essential. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical design for building services systemsHVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and auxiliary services. Produce coherent and compliant 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD tools (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Select and specify mechanical system components that meet performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness targets. Coordinate mechanical systems design with architectural, electrical, structural, and control disciplines. Ensure all designs comply with UK building regulations, industry best practices, and MOD-specific security and performance standards. Review contractors deliverables; provide technical reviews and sign off on mechanical systems. Contribute to design reviews, site visits, and commissioning to ensure successful implementation. Maintain clear documentationdesign calculations, specifications, and change logs. Engage with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and project continuity.
