Mechanical Draftsman / Design Engineer

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days remote)

Duration: 5 months

Rate: £35/hr Ltd - Outside IR35

Security: Must hold or be eligible for BPSS clearance

About the Role

Join a leading construction and engineering company on a high-profile project in Swindon. You'll produce detailed mechanical drawings and designs for generators and power distribution equipment, supporting system development through build, testing, and qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Create and update detailed AutoCAD / SolidWorks drawings.

Lead mechanical design of equipment and supporting structures.

Support prototype builds, testing, and issue resolution.

Collaborate on design reviews and configuration management.

Experience & Qualifications

5+ years' experience in design engineering.

Strong background in generator and power distribution systems.

Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Familiar with MOD and Defence Standards.

Understanding of manufacturing processes for high-spec equipment.
