About the Opportunity

Turner Property Recruitment are working with a leading MEP design consultancy seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their South region team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of building services projects, working closely with senior engineers, multidisciplinary colleagues, and clients to deliver coordinated, compliant, and technically robust design solutions.

You will be responsible for day-to-day mechanical engineering design on live projects, from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone who enjoys working in detail and wants to develop within a supportive, technically driven team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake mechanical engineering design for building services projects, including heating, ventilation, cooling, and domestic water systems.
  • Prepare and check calculations, drawings, and specifications across concept, developed, and technical design stages.
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, sustainability).
  • Work closely with project leads and senior engineers to ensure technical compliance and quality assurance.
  • Support the preparation of design packages for tender and construction, including responding to contractor queries.
  • Contribute to internal technical reviews and team knowledge sharing.
  • Use design software such as IES, AutoCAD, and Revit to produce coordinated and accurate outputs.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Ideally working towards professional registration (CIBSE or IMechE).

Experience:

  • Proven track record delivering mechanical designs within a consultancy or design-and-build environment.
  • Project responsibility from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
  • Experienced in using design and MS software tools (IES, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Familiarity with UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guides, and industry standards.
