Job Summary:
XCL are working on behalf of our client based in Huddersfield and are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and continuous improvement of their mechanical machinery and equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The successful candidate will be playing a critical role within the company, reducing downtime, increasing efficiency, and ensuring plant reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform both routine and preventative maintenance on a range of mechanical equipment and machinery
· Diagnose and repairing mechanical faults to schedule
· Maintain and implement Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimise unplanned stoppages to production
· Logging faults and activities using CMMS such as Sage
· Maintaining communication with production teams ensuring maximised operational efficiency
· Participate in root cause analysis eg 5 whys and fishbone diagrams
· Supporting the development and implementation of engineering solutions and production improvements
Qualifications and Experience:
· Apprentice trained or HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
· Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role preferably within a manufacturing / industrial environment
· Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
· Proficient in reading drawings and blueprints
· Certificates such as IPAF / PASMA MEWP (Cat 3A and 3B) are desirable
