As a Mechanical Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be an integral part of our space team, contributing to the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for RF, satellite communication, and quantum systems. Your expertise will help us advance our aerospace technologies and deliver high-quality products to our customers. 

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Edinburgh, Scotland location on an onsite work schedule. 

In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge aerospace technologies, ensuring the reliability and performance of our mechanical systems in critical applications.

Honeywell Aerospace products and services are used on virtually every commercial, defense, and space aircraft. We build aircraft engines, cockpit and cabin electronics, wireless connectivity systems, mechanical components. Our hardware and software solutions help create more fuel-efficient aircraft, more direct and on-time flights and safer skies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform mechanical analysis using ANSYS to verify system integrity under thermal and vibration loading. 
  • Develop & maintain designs for mechanical components, assemblies (BOMs), and systems, using Creo 3D CAD & Honeywell’s Teamcenter PLM Database. 
  • Cross functional collaboration to develop world-class Radio Frequency (RF), Satellite Communication, & Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), devices & systems.
  • Design drafting & documentation to clearly communicate technical information.
  • Mechanical inspection & testing of devices in a clean-room environment.
  • Proactively contribute to the success of the manufacturing plant; taking initiative to identify & address issues as they arise. 
  • YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, particularly in aerospace applications.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Experience with RF, satellite communication, or quantum systems is highly desirable.
  • WE VALUE

  • Advanced Engineering degrees such as ME (Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent.
