Mechanical Engineer (Technical Support / Projects Office)

Location: Derby

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

Join a major UK Rail company with an excellent reputation within Rolling Stock projects delivery & consultancy. Ganymede Solutions is working in partnership with a leading Rail Company to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their growing rolling stock consultancy business.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering best-in-class engineering solutions to clients within the rolling stock sector, including services to conventional rail, high-speed, light rail, and metro clients.
• Leading the delivery of major projects and supporting project bid work from an engineering, technical, and commercial perspective.
• Working directly with clients to deliver engineering solutions related to fleet maintenance, overhaul/modification, obsolescence, reliability, performance, and systems design & build.
• Providing engineering support services and technical consultancy such as technical investigations, design support, feasibility studies, RCA, preparing technical specifications, component/systems design or improvements, and maintainability/asset cost improvements.
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously and leading the technical engineering consultancy within client accounts/projects.
• Communicating confidently with clients and stakeholders about engineering problems and solutions.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a HNC level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience within a technical support or project engineering role.
• Knowledge of Engineering Change Assurance Processes & Documentation.
• Broad knowledge of Mechanical Engineering systems within Transportation.
