OverviewMechanical EngineerLocation: Northampton, UKEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentDepartment: Mechanical EngineeringAbout the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead engineering efforts on complex facility mechanical systems. This is a hands-on role with responsibility from schematic design through to commissioning, offering the opportunity to work on diverse projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical engineering projects from concept to commissioning.Review and guide the work of engineers and designers for accuracy and completeness.Manage engineering budgets and schedules.Perform hydraulic, thermal, and code compliance calculations.Engineer piping, ductwork, and mechanical systems including equipment specification and layout.Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, including inspections and commissioning.Support training and documentation handover to clients.Travel domestically and internationally (5–20%) to support installations and startups.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in facility systems.Strong knowledge of pumps, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and relief devices.Proficiency in P&ID development, equipment specification, and piping design.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.Valid driver’s license required.Work Environment & Physical DemandsOffice and site-based work, including exposure to industrial conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly. Must be able to travel and adapt to varying site conditions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
