Full-time | 40 hours per week | 6am -2pm Monday, 8am – 4pm Tuesday to Thursday, 6am – 2pm Friday.

Our client is a leader in materials manufacturing, supplying critical products for foundries and the special Steels and Alloys industry.
As part of their continued growth and investment, they are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the close-knit team in the Chesterfield area.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that all site equipment, machinery, and facilities operate at peak efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to fault-finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance across a wide range of mechanical systems within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant, equipment, and site infrastructure.
* Diagnose, repair, and improve mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors and furnaces.
* Support continuous improvement projects to maximise reliability and reduce downtime.
* Work closely with production and engineering teams to prioritise maintenance tasks.
* Assist in developing and implementing site maintenance schedules and long-term engineering improvements.
* Support external contractors and liaise with suppliers where required.
About You
We are looking for a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a solid background in manufacturing, process, or heavy industry.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Recognised engineering qualifications.
* Strong background in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating machinery, etc.).
* Skilled in fault-finding, root cause analysis, and delivering engineering solutions.
* Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
* Proactive approach to maintenance with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
* Flexible and team-orientated, with excellent problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
* Overhead Crane License
* Counter Balance FLT License
* Knowledge of 5S
* Welding and fabrication skills.
* Knowledge of powder metallurgy or process industry environments.
* Experience working to ISO or regulated industry standards.
