Our client is seeking a talented individual to join their dynamic team, where your expertise will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and machinery.\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\nCompetitive Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.\nWeekly Hours: 42 hours, Monday to Friday, with a daily paid break of 30 minutes.\nShift Pattern: Rotating shifts between 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm.\nOvertime Pay: Enjoy overtime at 1.25 Weekdays and Saturday and 1.5 Sunday\n\nGenerous Holiday Entitlement: 21 days per annum plus bank holidays.\nPension Plan & Life Assurance: Secure your future with our comprehensive benefits.\nFree Onsite Parking: No more parking hassles!\nChristmas Shutdown: Spend quality time with family during the festive season. \n\nYour Mission:\nAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, machinery, or instruments.
You'll ensure they function reliably while adhering to the highest Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nRespond to break-downs and other operating problems and complete planned maintenance activities to minimise disruptions to manufacturing processes\n\nAttend machines to assess planned maintenance activities and diagnose breakdowns\nEstablish a safe working area\nCommunicate with machine operators to attain information relating to the deviations\nAssess the need to isolate\nAdvise production supervisors of expected duration of work if possible\nUndertake appropriate repairs to machinery\nInstruct machine operators to test machinery on completion of maintenance activity\nMaintain tools and repair equipment to ensure good working orderMaintain detailed maintenance records so that Health and Safety is ensured and recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts can be identified and addressed\n\nComplete work order documents with the relevant information relating to the required maintenance activity\nComplete take 2s and raise permits to work when the need to isolate occurs\nSign off permits when reengaging power\nLiaise with machine operators to sign off completed work orders\nCapture all maintenance activities in relevant recording system\nComplete appropriate audits on maintenance equipment\nFeedback to the relevant individuals on proposed improvements to machinery, operator competence and/or any other relevant informationSet, calibrate or adjust equipment, machinery and instruments so that it complies with production specifications or instructions\n\nMeasure product lengths and angles\nIdentify opportunities to maximise product utilisation within British Standards\nRespond to observations from machine operators on product calibration\nInput corrections into operating system\nRecheck product for new calibration changes Technical Competencies:\n\nExperience with production services (e.g., cranes)\nKnowledge of bar production (e.g., shear lines)\nFamiliarity with power bending (manual and automatic benders)\nExpertise in coil production (straightening and decoiling machines)\nSkills in threading & coupling (e.g., Lenton and Dextra) Who You Are:\nThe ideal candidate will have completed an appropriate apprenticeship and will be required to undertake a practical test as part of the interview process.
