Position: Mechanical Engineer GRS are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a contractor operating within the Water Industry. In this role, you will play a key part in the maintenance, installation, and commissioning of pumps, valves, gearboxes, pipework, and other mechanical equipment across water treatment works, pumping stations, water supply works, and booster stations. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical knowledge and practical experience working on industrial equipment, particularly rotating machinery and pump systems. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on pumps, valves, pipework, and other plant equipment. * Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to ensure system uptime and performance. * Respond to urgent mechanical failures or breakdowns across water and wastewater sites. Installation & Commissioning * Install and align pumps, motors, valves, and associated mechanical components. * Carry out pipe fitting, bolting, and coupling work for equipment installations. * Commission mechanical systems, ensuring correct operation, pressure, flow, and alignment. * Conduct on-site testing, vibration checks, and performance validation to meet client specifications.
