Mechanical Engineer \n\nEdinburgh \n\n£40,000\n\nBrief\n\nMechanical Engineer needed for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Edinburgh who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work.\n\nThe successful candidate must have gone through a Mechanical/Engineering apprenticeship and hold a City and Guilds / NVQ within a relevant field. If you have previous healthcare experience that would be a plus!\n\nBenefits\n\nSalary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annum\n24 day's holiday\nVariable annual bonus based 5-15%\nPension Plan\nCareer Progression \n\nWhat the role entails:\n\nSome of the main duties of the Mechanical Engineer will include:\n\nThe post holder will very much be involved with the maintenance and minor works service covering a wide and varied range of mechanical equipment servicing large industrial units such as dual fired boilers and heating and ventilation distribution equipment.\n\nUndertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, MTHW /LTHW pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems\nUsing cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use of all relevant drawings and schematics\nCarry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations\nUse of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works ensuring full compliance with the organisation Guidelines and Controls e.g. Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection and Hazardous Substances\nWork involves the use of analytical test devices, specialist tools, workshop fixed equipment, portable electrical equipment, welding equipment, emergency generators, medical gas equipment (patient use) suction units, geared drives \n\nWhat experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer:\n\nRequired qualifications are an appropriately recognised Mechanical/Engineering apprenticeship\nC&G, Scotvec (SVQ3), or equivalent\nThis role includes a DS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.This really is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to progress their career.
