Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to service production needs in regards to regular maintenance, engineering issues and machinery breakdowns. All maintenance activities are in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards as relevant.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * To carry out routine servicing and inspection on all production machinery and mechanical systems and equipment. * Use the preventative maintenance system to reduce breakdowns and unplanned maintenance. * Carry out essential legislative testing of mechanical equipment and systems. * To work safely within the company's Health and Safety Procedures. * To identify and keep essential stock items at necessary working levels. * To assist the Engineering Manager in identifying process improvements through elimination of downtime and other continuous improvement initiatives (CIP Process). * To assist the Engineering Manager with projects and developments. * Liaise when necessary with external contractors.
Essential Skills * ONC, HNC or City and guilds qualified. * Hydraulic and pneumatic experience. * Mig and MMA welding experience is essential. Tig would be beneficial. * Heavy / Medium engineering background. * Lifting and slinging experience * Computer literate. Can use Microsoft office. Use of PPM system such as Pirana or similar. * Driving licence.
Preferred but not essential
* Turning experience. * IPAF qualification. The job involves working at heights. * Some basic electrical experience. * FLT licence * Atex Experience * Gas burners / Gas safe registered
Hours of work 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3pm on Fridays. Flexibility is required to work on Saturdays (paid overtime).
