Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Knowsley Full-time | Permanent | 40 hours per week | Double Days - 6am - 2pm/ 2pm - 10pm.

We’re seeking a hands-on and dependable Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a respected FMCG manufacturing organisation (Not Food). This role is ideal for a mechanically minded engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping critical production equipment running at peak performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be part of the on-site engineering team, working to ensure machinery and plant equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with operational and regulatory standards. Your work will directly impact uptime, safety, and production continuity across the site.

Key responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production and processing equipment

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults with pumps, conveyors, mixers, and packaging lines

Support the development and execution of maintenance schedules (PPMs)

Log maintenance tasks and manage spare parts usage using internal systems

Ensure health & safety procedures, risk assessments, and LOTO protocols are followed
