In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).The PositionMechanical Package EngineerResponsibilitiesTechnical document surveillance and resolution of issuesReview of contractor deliverables, non-conformances, exemption requests, open points, and design changesLiaise with other teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functionsEnsure qualification activities are progressing accordingly to the contract progress and site needsTechnical assessment of the tenders in the aspects of design, qualification, and manufacturingProvide expertise for package design as requiredIdentifying and resolving discrepancies from original proposal/ contract by raising technical queries and/or identifying trends and changes within the framework of management of changeMechanical equipment study work, design, selection, and assessmentsProfileAlongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)Understanding of the EPR or general PWR designUnderstanding of Equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, CDM)Contract management and documentary surveillance experienceCapable of producing technical specifications, including a sound understanding of nuclear processing regulationsUnderstanding of nuclear power generation, and the specialities of nuclear technologyExperience in the design of packages in both FEED and EPC environmentsExperience on the design/ procurement of any of the following mechanical equipment: process & pressure equipment, rotating equipment, handling equipment, gas measuring devices, liquid heating systems (including heating rods and supplying electrical cabinets), antifoaming skids, gloveboxes, fluid and waste processing systems, and pressure compliance systemReside locally to Bristol or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverageRemuneration & BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary tailored to your experience and background.
