We are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly respected and forward-thinking manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical PM Engineer.
Reporting directly to the Senior Mechanical Engineer and working closely with the Reliability Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer seeking a technically rewarding role where reliability, performance and continuous improvement are key.
As the Mechanical PM Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the upkeep, performance and reliability of a range of mechanical systems and equipment. You will lead on delivering preventative maintenance (PM) activities, support condition-based monitoring (CBM), and contribute to major plant shutdowns — all while ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Operations teams, as well as external contractors, to ensure equipment performance aligns with operational goals. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, proactive planning and a passion for engineering excellence are essential.
This position also forms part of a call-out rota, with occasional requirements for additional hours outside normal working patterns to meet operational needs.
Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (minimum).
Proven frontline maintenance experience within a continuous process manufacturing environment.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical design, fitting, pneumatics, hydraulics, and material flow systems (belt/screw conveying, dense/lean phase blowing).
Strong understanding of rotating machinery, motors, vacuum systems, and mill/crushing technology.
Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to make sound technical recommendations under pressure.
Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Effective communicator, able to engage and influence across teams.
Full Right to Work in the UK – sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
Desirable
HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant professional membership.
Experience with Microsoft Project.
Knowledge of OEE, MEE, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience managing contractors and understanding statutory compliance requirements.
