OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work for a client based in Immingham to . This temporary position which is due to start in January 2026, for a period of up to 10 months. The right candidate will support the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of mechanical project works in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Purpose & Scope
Reporting to the site Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for the final development and delivery of key mechanical elements within a wider capital expenditure (CAPEX) programme at South Humber Bank power station.
The role requires close collaboration with HSE, Finance, Procurement, Maintenance, and Operations departments to ensure successful delivery of project outcomes against defined HSE, cost, schedule, and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Provide support to the site Mechanical Engineer as required
* Engineer and deliver discrete projects including:
o Scope development
o Supporting tendering and tender assessment / selection process
o Support the order placement
o Development of work packs within the site SAP system
o Liaise with the site Safety team and permit to ensure safety from the system
o Ensure all resources are in place including labour and spares
o Manage the works delivery to HSE, cost, schedule and quality standards
Qualifications:
* HND in Mechanical Engineering – essential
* Formal project management qualification – desirable (relevant experience essential)
* IOSH – desirable
Experience:
* Experienced in contractor management – essential
* Experienced in mechanical scope development, works management and delivery – essential
* Prior experience within the power generation or process industry in a mechanically biased role including engineering, operation or maintenance – desirable
* Experienced with Welding and QA processes: ASME 31.1/31.3 or similar – essential
* Commissioning activities – desirable
Knowledge:
* Working knowledge of valving and pipework systems – essential
* Good understanding of General Arrangement, Isometric drawings and general mechanical engineering drawings – essential
Skills:
* Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively with both internal and external personnel at all seniority levels – essential
* Working knowledge of managing safety and safety from the system - essential
