Requirements for the role of Mechanical Pump and Drainage Engineer:

* Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent). * Experience in pump and drainage systems, including both reactive and planned maintenance. * Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and technical ability. * Ability to diagnose faults, problem-solve, and deliver effective solutions. * Capable of working independently, taking responsibility, and overcoming challenges on-site. * Strong communication skills with the ability to complete accurate service reports and logbooks. * Physically capable of manual work, including lifting and working in confined spaces. * Full UK driving licence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Carry out reactive repairs and emergency callouts to pumps, pumping stations, and drainage systems. * Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on pumps, drainage, and associated mechanical equipment. * Inspect, test, and service a range of pumping and drainage systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. * Fault-finding, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on-site. * Routine maintenance of valves, pipework, and drainage systems. * Cleaning, unblocking, and inspecting drainage networks. * Maintain detailed reports, logbooks, and compliance documentation. * Work in line with health & safety legislation and company procedures at all times.
