The Role:\n\nWe are seeking Mechanical Design & Senior Design Engineers to work in the subsea / marine / renewable sector to design bespoke mechanical handling & deployment equipment. The unique equipment uses vary from wind turbine monopile installation to subsea trenching, well intervention, deck spreads and walk to work systems.\n\nMain Responsibilities:\n\n• Ensuring engineering design packages in full compliance with customers’ requirements and all relevant codes and standards\n• Carrying out final approval of design packages\n• Support and mentoring of Engineering Team members\n• Producing conceptual designs and detailed engineering analysis using available methods\n• Producing 3D modelling drawings\n• Liaising with appropriate departments to ensure clients requirements are fully met\n• Preparing Design Specifications\n• Preparing General Arrangement drawings and Assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, Material Take Off Lists and Bill of Materials\n• Advising and instructing operations staff with respect to testing and assembly of equipment\n• Attending client meetings as required, identifying design engineering requirements and processes to meet client needs\n\nIndividual Quality and Safety Responsibilities:\n\n• To comply with Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.\n\nQualifications:\n\n• Degree in Mechanical (), Civil or Marine Engineering or appropriate design equivalent experience.\n• Chartered membership of relevant professional engineering institute desirable.\n\nExperience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge:\n\n• Design experience, preferably within the renewable, oil and gas, subsea, or heavy fabrication environment, would be an advantage.\n• Design experience from first principles.\n• Competence in 3D modelling and drafting.\n• Experienced of, and competent in carrying out, checking and approving engineering design packages.\n• Knowledge and use of piping / pressure vessel codes and standards.\n• Understanding of and interpretation of FEA techniques.\n\nPersonal Qualities:\n\n• Excellent analytical skills.\n• Lateral thinker who uses their initiative to provide engineered solutions.\n• Forthcoming with ideas to improve our services.\n• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, team player, who is also happy to work independent of others.\n• Effective time manager that ensures a quick turnaround of Engineering requirements.\n• Excellent organisational skills.\n• Consistent and structured approach to work.\n• Prioritises own and others workloads.\n• Communicates clearly, consistently and effectively with all members of staff.\n• Established and strong interpersonal skills.\n• Supervises and guides team members.\n• Shares and communicates knowledge to support the development of others.\n• Takes pride in the accuracy and delivery of high quality work.\n\nThe NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
