Mechanical Shift Engineer – Canary Wharf – £50,000 total package (£47,000 + £3,000 shift allowance). Location: Canary Wharf. Salary: £47,000 + £3,000 shift allowance. Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Days). A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading FM service provider, working on a prestigious banking contract in the heart of Canary Wharf. This role is perfect for a skilled engineer looking to grow within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As part of a dedicated maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs, ensuring mechanical services and equipment operate at peak performance. Please note this role will go to full shift January 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical services.
  • Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors, ensuring work meets contract requirements and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, pumps, and plumbing.
  • Carry out daily PPM and Reactive Maintenance tasks and daily emergency callout tasks.
  • Administer sub-contractor work approvals and safe operation while repair or service is carried out on site.
  • Complete logbooks and RAMS (risk assessments and method statements).
  • Support the Lead Engineer and Account Manager in meeting compliance standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with operational KPIs and regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • City & Guilds Mechanical Qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Previous mechanical maintenance experience in a critical setting
  • Comfortable working in a shift-based role
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rota
  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills
